Dance Freeze
Tiny Tim
If You Want to Hear a Story Clap Your Hands
Book:

Dinosaurs on the playground taunt each other about who is biggest, until Mommy Dinosaur, the biggest of all sets them straight. Easy text and bright pictures.
Flannel Story:

Dotty the Dinosaur
Dotty the Dinosaur loved to eat
Things like lettuce and string beans.
That is why her dinosaur skin
Was colored a lovely GREEN.
One day she saw some cherries
And ate them all that day.
Later, Dotty the Dinosaur
Turned bright RED they say.
Dotty just loved colors,
So the next day she ate two
Bushes filled with blueberries
And turned the color BLUE.
The next day she saw some grapes
And ate them on the spot.
Then Dotty turned quite PURPLE
From her bottom to her top.
Next she ate a banana;
It made her feel quite mellow.
And wouldn’t you know it, next thing
Dotty turned bright YELLOW.
Then she ate some juicy orange,
Just a little slice.
And when Dotty turned ORANGE she thought,
“Isn’t this quite nice?”

I’ve used this story so many times that my regular kids like to come up to the flannel board and tell it for me. A crowd favorite
Song:
Well Hello (Mary Had a Little Lamb)
Well, hello dinosaurs, can you touch your nose, touch your nose, touch your nose?
Well, hello dinosaurs can you touch your toes, touch your toes, touch your toes?
(stretch your neck, stomp your feet . . . )

Book:

This book is more an activity than a book. I would usually never do 3 books in sensory story time! Each page is filled with a different dinosaur dance move that the kids loved to mimic.

Book:

Another very simple picture book in which dinosaurs gallop and plod and roar.
Activity Dice:

I think I’ve mentioned before that I use Velcro dots on my activity dice and that way I can change themes in and out on my nice sturdy box!
Closing Song:

As always we closed story time with the kids singing along to my squawking crow puppet, Alphabetty. Giggles all around!
Sensory Play:
Today we gave our dinosaurs baths!
