Five little stars shine and shine some more,
One fell to the earth and then there were four.
Four little stars, happy as can be,
One fell to the earth and then there were three.
Three little stars in a sky so blue,
One fell to the earth and then there were two.
Two little stars, having lots of fun,
One fell to the earth and then there was one.
One little star left left all alone,
That one fell to earth and then there were none.
The moon came out- what a pretty sight!
He waved to the stars and he said goodnight.

Poem:

I’ll use this poem to talk to the kids about the sun being a star and in a very simple way about photosynthesis.

Golden Sun

By Lenore Hetrick

Great, glorious, golden sun,

Shine down on me today.

You are the life of all this earth,

You and your magic ray.

You are the life of bird and plant,

All must depend on you.

Shine down, great sun, the whole day long!

Shine from the heaven’s blue.

And I will welcome your golden rays,

For you mean life to me,

And you mean happiness and health,

Strength and energy.

Shine down, great sun, on flower and field,

And never say goodbye.

Forever and ever give us your light

From out the side, blue sky.

June Repeating Songs:

 In the Sky

(Tune: The Farmer in the Dell)

The Sun is in the sky,

The Sun is in the sky,

Hot and bright it gives us light,

The Sun is in the sky!

The Moon is in the sky,

The Moon is in the sky,

Round and round the earth it goes,

The Moon is in the sky!

The stars are in the sky,

The Stars are in the sky,

Far and bright and out at night,

The stars are I the sky!

The Moon Up Above

(Tune: The Wheels on the Bus)

The moon up above is,

Big and round,

Big and round,

Big and round,

The moon up above,

Is big and round,

Up in the sky.

The moon up above is,

Near the stars,

Near the stars,

Near the stars,

The moon up above,

Is near the stars,

Up in the sky.

The moon up above is,

Clear and bright,

Clear and bright,

Clear and bright,

The moon up above,

Is clear and bright,

Up in the sky.

Alien, Alien

Alien, Alien, turn around.

Alien, alien, touch the ground.

Alien, alien, fly your ship.

Alien, alien, say “blip, blip!”

Alien, alien reach the stars.

Alien, Alien, jump so far!

Alien, alien, tie your shoe.

Alien, alien, that will do.

Alien, alien, turn out the light.

Alien, alien, say good-night.
